Maria arc as always been kind of “meh’ to me, so this episode didn’t excite me too much one way or the other.
However, more important continuing plot elements, such as Kyoko acting talent and the Skip Beat subtheme of Family are brought into the light more.
Every magical girl show has to have at least one filler episode where there’s a character who tells the heroine and her classmates fortunes. Now Shugo Chara has one too so hopefully they won’t do another one.
This episode was kinda of meh for me. The two filler characters were okay, but uninteresting. Interesting to note that some more development towards the Ikuto arc. Also there were two or three Rima moments that saved the episode from being completely boring.

Instead of chapter 132, there was a side story from the party arc in this month’s Hana to Yume. Though I was excited for a Chiori-Kyoko slamdown scene, I loved the side story. It was funny and cute, and fits in with the current arc in the anime so well.
This episode signifesthe start of the second arc of Skip Beat!, where Maria and Kanae are reintroduced into the plot and are finally given development. This is probably going to be a two episode arc.
I enjoyed the Maria Arc, but wasn’t a huge fan of it in the manga. Thus I was able to enjoy this episode because unlike the Ruriko arc I didn’t have huge expectations and hope. I currently love Maira because of this episode, and Marina Inoue continues to do a fantasic job of capturing all of Kyoko emotion changes in her voice.
Best episode of Doki so far!
We fianlly get to hear more of Utau’s beautiful song, we get the kitty scene at the start, a certain heartpounding moment in the middle, Ikuto and Utau’s sibling relationship, and actual plot. Plus no Lulu.
So I’m a happy fangirl. ^_^
This post is late, because I was too lazy to blog on Sunday and I had test to study for on Monday and Tuesday.
The conclustion of Skip Beat’s first big arc. While I agree with Fuyumaiden about the fact that the Skip Beat Anime lacks impact, I’m going to continue to enjoy it. I’m probably not the most unbiased person in the world, since I love the Skip Beat manga, and would probably just be overjoyed if they didn’t butcher the series, but I knew going into the anime that it wouldn’t be as good as the manga.
The Ruriko arc proved that Skip Beat isn’t about a girl who’s searching for revenge. It’s about a girl who’s trying to create a new life for herself, that isn’t related to her old life.
This episode was actually pretty good. It had a lot of cute chara moments. (Particularly some with Eru which I know someone must be pretty happy about ^_^), as well as the return of Ami who really hasn’t shown up in awhile.
I’m sorry this post is late. I went to see a play yesterday afternoon and didn’t see the episode until late.
This episode was very good. It covered more ground then I excepted again. I thought they’d only go to the end of chapter 11, but they covered most of chapter 12 too. Which means the Ruriko arc should end next week.
Yay! Shugo N Chara is back and all it took was the return of the trap and some forced cross dressing. ^_^
Hakushaku To Yosei’s first arc ends in episode 4 (I’m presuming the four episodes covered the first light novel). Since this was the last episode of this arc it felt like the animators were trying to fit a lot in one episode, which made some elements of the plot feel confusing, but I think people who have been following the plot thus far should be able to understand this episode.
