He’s back! That’s right Nagihiko is back after the longest absence of a main character from Shugo Chara ever, to migrate the disappointment that Shugo Chara! Doki!, is going to be for awhile, and actually adds some manga reverent plot back into the story. This episode covers portions of chapters 27, and 30, and parts of the Nagihiko side story from volume seven. There also looks like there’s going to be a lot of Rimahiko this season, since Satelight has latched on to that pairing.

Summary

The episode starts off with Amu having a dream about seeing Nadeshiko again, before being woken up by Nikadou in class. At the end of the day, in the garden Rima asks Amu, why she’s so tired. Amu explains that Ami was up all night singing. They hear a noise and go over to see a boy from another school, who’s looking for the planetarium. Meanwhile, Kukai, and Tadase are in Shoudai K’s office. Nadeshiko comes into the office, causing Kukai to get excited since they haven’t seen each other in a long time. Nadeshiko leaves the room and comes back later as Nagihiko. Tadase and Nagihiko explain to Kukai that Nadeshiko and Nagihiko are the same person, shocking him. Shoudai K mentions how Nagihiko will replace Kairi as the Jack for the Guardians. Amu is busy helping the boy to find the planetarium. It turns out that his dream is to be an astronut one day. Unknown to both Amu and the boy Lulu is spying on them. Shoudai K comes out on to the path to greet the boy and Amu. Nagihiko is explains to Tadase and Kukai that he has a new egg, but it hasn’t hatched yet and that Temari has also gone back into her egg. He thinks that the new egg was born from his wish to be able to act like a boy. Nagihiko worries about how Amu will react when she finds out that he’s a boy. At that moment Amu herself comes along and is excited to see “Nadeshiko’s twin”. Tadase and Kukai explain that Nagihiko will be a member of the guardians soon. Amu runs ahead back to the Royal Garden to tell Rima and Yaya, while Nagihiko sinks into the depths of despair. Meanwhile Shoudai K and the boy are in the platurm looking up at the skys. Back at the Royal Guardian, Nagihiko is introduced to Yaya and Rima. He tells them that he has one egg that hasn’t hatched yet. Rima makes some sort of comment about how is it possible for him to be a guardian if he can’t even chara change. Tadase tries to defend him, but almost let’s the secret slip. Rima seems suspicious of Nagihiko. Later on Rima clings on to Amu sleeve and starts to cry saying something about how Amu was best friends with the old Queen chair. Amu freaks out worried, but Nagihiko sees through Rima’s fake tears. Later on Amu walks through the paths of the school (patroling I think) and comes across Lulu pinicing. Lulu starts to pack up her food and says something to piss Amu off. Lulu meets to boy coming out of the platuim and does her necklace thing. Amu is complaining about Lulu to the others when the boy comes out and chara-naris with the ? mark egg. Amu and the others chara-nari while Nagihiko stands back. The others are having trouble fighting the boy (who’s making random objects into rockets) and so Nagihiko takes charge asking Rima to use her tightrope attack to secure the play structure. The guardians each hold a rope, while Amu convinces the boy to stop by reminding him of his dream. She changes the kid back to normal. It ends with RIma admitting Nagihiko might be good for something (I think), but that she still doesn’t trust him.

Thoughts

Nadeshiko shows up twice in this episode. I hope they bring back the trap verison of Nagihiko from time to time even though he looks very good as a boy too.

After school Rima and Yaya ask Amu why she was so tired all day, and I think Amu said something about her sister keeping everyone up all night long by singing on her microphone kit lol. Anyone with siblings can identfy with that problem. My brother still does that, and he’s three years older then me. (Only he doesn’t sing J-pop songs. He talks about politics. Groan.)

This guy’s just around to fill out the parts that aren’t being used to reintroduce Nagihiko back into the story. His design and story don’t really bother me, they just didn’t leave any sort of impression at all.

I wonder, why Kukai likes ruffling girls’ hair so much? It would be interesting to see what would happen if he tried to ruffle Utau’s hair.

Heh. It’s amusing to see Kukai shocked since he’s normally an easy going guy who doesn’t get fazed easily by things. Then again most of the Shugo Chara! cast is like that. The only character that spazzes on a regular basis is Amu.

Satelight is full of Sadists. They keep talking about and even showing Kairi. They never did this with anyone else. They should bring him back for a filler episode. That’s anime orignal plot I’d support fully.

Now Lulu’s copying Ikuto’s hiding behind trees to spy on people characteristic. Sigh. It just keeps getting worse.

Everyone that has read chapter 34 knows  what the egg is going to be. It will be interesting to see how Satelight decides to color Rizumu.

I like how Tadase and Kukai cheerfully cover for Nagihiko, while he sits back flustered. Nagihiko has never been flustered before in the series, that I can remember so it’s interesting to see.

Rima’s being a brat again. However we all know that Rima only acts bratty to the people she’ll end up liking the most, like Amu, so really this bods well for Nagihiko.

Heh. Ah Tadase. In trying to be helpful he ends making Rima even more suspicious of Nagihiko.

Rima uses her secret weapon of tears to get Amu’s attention. I’m surprised Amu actually fell for it. Doesn’t she remember what happened in episode 28?

Nagi isn’t fooled by her tears though. Which is probably good if they become a couple since she won’t be able to manipulate him with her fake tears, and he’ll be to tell when she’s actually crying, so he can comfort her.

Sigh. Typical shojo anime girl rival relationship, were another girl pisses the main character off by insulting her. I liked Utau and Amu relationship, because Utau never insulted Amu pettily , but merely challenged her.

Looks like buzz lightyear-_-hy does Satelight always change the hair colors of the people for the fake chara-naris?

Group transformation sequence. It looks like Kukai joins the glowing naked body group with the rest of the characters.

Rima’s tightrope attack finally shows up. (It was suppose to be in episode 43 I think). Most attacks seem to be for either fighting or securing something. I think most chara-naris have at least one of each.

Satelight has given Nagihiko a purpose in the guardians until chapter 34 is animated. It looks like he’ll be in charge of planning and surveillance until it happens. On a side note, Nagihiko seems like he’s a good leader. It’s probably something that he learned for when he has to take over the dance school.

Amulet Heart’s skates finally show up in this episode for anyone who’s been wondering when they were going to enter the plot.

Rima’s seems very possessive. When you think about it makes since though. Amu was Rima’s first real friend. She knows that Nadeshiko was Amu’s best friend, and she also knows that Nagihiko is “Nadeshiko’s twin”, so she him as the enemy because she’s worried Amu will choose to hang out with Nagihiko more now because of his connection to Nadeshiko.

Preview

It looks like we might get the skirts scene next week. ^_^ Also it looks filler person next week is a someone everyone thinks is a delinquent. -_- On the plus side Kukai seems to be hanging around the guardians more lately. It’ s like the original guardians now plus Rima. I hope they bring Kairi back so they can have a “Guardians 7″ scene like the “Guardians 5″ moment from episode 51.

All and all this was a pretty good episode. The Nagihiko and Rimahiko parts were good. I hope Satelight gives us more episodes with this pairing, so they’re  will always be someone to ship.
