The second last installment of V-day 2009 shipping countdown, and my second favorite couple. Today’s couple is….

Amuto

It’s a couple with one of the most commonly used nicknames that I’ve seen in the anime world. There’s a lot of chemistry between these two right from the start. Whenever they’re together they never lack for things to talk about, and always learn more about each other.  Also, they are able to laugh in front of each other freely, as seen in the amusement park scene with Amu and in various scenes with Ikuto (probably the only time Ikuto laughs in front of anyone except maybe Yoru). They’re also fun to watch given Ikuto’s teasing and Amu acting like a tsundere, since they often lead to interesting situations (IceCreAmu for one) . Yet they’re a lot of obsecticles between them. Amu is still trying to hold on to her first crush (which is understandable) and everytime there’s a romantic moment between them now, since it doesn’t seem likely Amu will try to stop him anymore, Ikuto either has to laugh or pretend it’s a joke to stop it. It’s mostly because of both his working for Easter and Amu’s age. He probably wants to wait until they can have a normal happy relationship before he can stop pretending that it’s a joke.  Amu, in the manga at least, is able to admit that he’s important to her and even in the anime, she  worries about him and if he’s taking himself. It will be interesting if these two will ever see past their stubborness to be honest with themselves and each other…
